About Chad Straughan

Owner and Pharmacist
Having called the Lowcountry home since 2009, I wished for the opportunity to engage with this incredible community and provide pharmacy services that I found our family and friends needing and wanting.  I dreaded being a number at the “big box” and as a pharmacist, I knew myself and this community deserved so much more.  Thus the idea for Tidewater was born.  Having spent 12 years in the pharmaceutical industry in various roles, it was time to hang up my corporate hat and become a local business owner.  With the support of my incredible wife and three kids, we embarked upon this business venture.  I know our customer centric approach along with our extensive pharmacy and medical supplies options will meet the needs of the Lowcountry community for years to come.  I look forward to meeting you soon.

Pharmacist in Charge

About Don Mackellar

Pharmacist in Charge
I have spent my entire career in Independent Pharmacy. I believe in customer service and feel that we have lost much of that in the “big box” pharmacies. In 2012 my wife, daughter, and I came to Charleston on vacation and fell in love with the area. As a result we sold our own pharmacy and our home and took the leap of faith and moved to Mount Pleasant in 2013. Since we have been here we have enjoyed ourselves immensely. In hearing and understanding the foundation and principles on what is Tidewater Pharmacy, I felt like I was coming home. We can only hope that you will feel the same way! If you ever have questions or need anything please do not hesitate to ask.

Born and raised in the Lowcountry, I have spent the last twenty four years working as a pharmacist in retail, longterm care, and hospital settings. I am honored to be a part of such an amazing team at Tidewater, where I truly get to know our customers on a personal level . I love interacting with people and helping them with their medication needs. When I’m not in the pharmacy, I enjoy lots of outdoor activities and spending time with my husband and two children. About Jennifer Molony

Compounding Pharmacy Technician
I’ve had the pleasure of working in pharmacy for almost 9 years now, both in Florida and South Carolina, and I still love the feeling that I get from helping people get well from all sorts of ailments. I worked for a mom-and-pop pharmacy in Florida, where I gained extensive experience in retail, compounding, and sterile compounding. I also received certification in sterile compounding from PCCA in Texas. When my husband and I decided to move back to South Carolina to raise our daughter, Tidewater was exactly the pharmacy I was looking for to transition into the next phase of my pharmacy career!

Pharmacy Tech

About Meg Daehler

Pharmacy Tech
After graduating from the University of Kentucky (Go CATS) with a degree in Communications, I knew there was something else I was looking for. After a brief conversation with my mom, she convinced me to move south and within a months time, I packed up and moved to Charleston. It was here that I pursued my passion for helping others and went back to Nursing school. After working briefly in the hospital setting on a Cardiac floor, I soon realized that my passion was in building trusting relationships with patients and helping them outside of the hospital setting. The universe was listening and that’s when I found Tidewater Pharmacy, or I should say Tidewater found me. I am now dual licensed working as a Pharmacy Tech and a Nurse. I am so excited to see where this new adventure takes me, and I cannot wait to build those relationships with our amazing patients!
